Charges over school fire

crime-scene-tapePOLICE have charged two people over the fire at Manorvale Primary School in Werribee last week.
A 22-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy were charged with two counts of arson after the school’s multi-million dollar gymnasium was burnt to the ground and a car was also set alight at the Werribee Football Club. The gym was due to be open in three days after it was gutted by the fire.
About 60 MFB and CFA firefighters attended the fire at around 5.30am on Monday 29 November and had it under control within 50 minutes.
Manorvale Primary School principal Helen Watson said the school and its students were still coming to terms with the blaze.
